In 7 easy steps, you’ll learn the fastest possible route to setting up your Kobo account, your Android Collect app, and your first data collection form so you can understand how it works.

This course is for absolute beginners.

After you set up your account and your Collect app, you’ll create a very simple 3-question form from scratch using the three most common question types - text, number, and ‘select one’ questions. You’ll also learn how to upload and deploy an XLSForm questionnaire if someone has shared an Excel questionnaire with you. (But in this course we don’t show you how to work in the XLSForm itself.)

Next you’ll learn how to get your brand new questionnaire onto your Collect app, and how to fill it in and submit data. We’ll give you a quick tour around how to view your submitted data back in the server and the basic process for downloading it to Excel.

And finally, we’ll show you how to share your form with someone else, like a data collector on your team, so they can start submitting data to you.
