NABASA JONATHAN - Uganda

"Yeah, the course was so interesting. What I liked about it was the way Janna organized the modules. Her explanations were very interesting, and the practical examples made it easier for practice. The community around was also good. It helped us network and make friends across the world. Quick responses to emails and questions in the community made the course different from other online courses I've taken. The weekly Zoom meetings made the course extraordinary and interactive. Thanks for all, Janna!"

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What software do you typically use for data collection and dashboard creation?

We typically work with XLSForm questionnaires, compatible with software like ODK, KoBoToolbox, ONA, SurveyCTO, and other related tools for data collection.

For dashboarding, we commonly use Power BI, but we also work with Looker (Google), Data Studio, and are open to finding the right solution for your specific needs. QGIS is our choice for mapping, and we can use Excel or Google Sheets for additional support.

  • Who is the key contact or focal point from our team that you usually work with?

We typically collaborate with a key focal point from your team, such as a Project Manager leading a change-management process, a CEO piloting a new initiative, or a Monitoring/Evaluation advisor scaling up data collection across multiple programs or countries.

  • How do you fit into our workflow and team structure?

Our involvement can vary based on the size and structure of your organization. With smaller organizations, we may directly communicate with your data collectors on the ground, providing them with support and training. We can also assist in managing the data once it's submitted and create analysis and visualizations to support your rollout.

For larger organizations, we might turn form and dashboard designs into templates usable across multiple countries or offer specific training and support across various programs and countries. We will work together to determine the best approach for your team.

  • Can you help build our team's skills in data collection and dashboard development?

Certainly. We adapt to your team's existing skill set and fill in any current gaps.

Moreover, as we collaborate, we are open to enhancing your team's skills in the areas we work on. We often recommend team members to participate in courses or communities for ongoing coaching and support.

  • What can we expect when working with you on data collection and dashboards?

You can expect a tailored approach to suit your organization's needs, utilizing appropriate software and collaboration methods. We aim to provide expertise, fill skill gaps, and enhance your team's capabilities while working together to achieve your data collection and dashboard goals.

  • What if I can't afford any of the courses/cohorts?

Depending on the size of your organisation and the availability of funding for professional development, you might not be able to afford the course.
